Pianoduo Crewir <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nao Kanemura and Yoshiaki Sato (piano), are Japanese pianists. They have been playing together as \u201cDuo Crewir\u201d since 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the name \u201cCrewir\u201d? \u2014 \u201cCre” comes from the Latin word “crescere” (to grow) and “create” in English, and “wir” comes from the German word “wir” meaning “we”.  We grow through music and create music together. Duo Crewir performed at venues in Japan, Poland, Germany, Italy and Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They won 1st prize at the International Piano Duo Competition “Suzana Sz\u00f6renyi” (Bucharest, October 2023). Other major accolades include 1st prize at the international piano duo competition “Duettissimo” (Krakow, April 2024), Absolute 1st prize, category two pianos, 1st prize plus special prize “Marche Musica” for works by Marco Sollini at the ROMA International Piano Competition, four hands category (Rome, November 2023), Grand Prix plus special prize Steinway and special prize of the jury for the best performance of the selected piece at the International Piano Duo Competition in Japan (Tokyo, March 2021). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the competition stage, Duo Crewir is actively expanding its concert career across Europe and Japan. In 2024, they were featured as the piano duo in the C.H.O.I.R. 2024 project, performing Brahms\u2019 Ein deutsches Requiem (version for choir, two pianos and timpani) in a series of four concerts across Germany. Their festival appearances include prestigious invitations to the Majura Piano Duo Festival in Bucharest and the Klavier Art Duo Festival in R\u0103d\u0103u\u021bi, Romania. In August 2025, they further showcased their technical mastery by performing Bart\u00f3k\u2019s Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion at a chamber music concert in Japan.

They earned Master\u2019s Degrees of piano duo with top honors at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. Since October 2024, then they have been studying piano duo with Prof. Hans-Peter Stenzl and Prof. Volker Stenzl at the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater Rostock in Germany as the Konzertexamen. As part of their ongoing studies, they spent the winter semester 2025\/26 as exchange students at the Lucerne School of Music (Hochschule Luzern) in Switzerland, supported by the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are the scholarship holders of the Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation and the Family-Rahe Foundation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
